We’d love to hear from the people who have supported them every step of the way. Parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, staff, and friends if there’s a special senior you’d like to recognize, record a short video message and help us celebrate their journey and achievements!

Teachers are often the first to see who we might become before we can see it ourselves. They plant ideas that take root and grow. Eventually, those ideas shape the way we think, learn, and move through the world long after graduation.
This month, we are celebrating those extraordinary teachers whose impact does not end with the final bell, but continues to echo through every life they have helped shape.
This message comes from Conner C. at Organ Mountain High School.

Las Cruces Public Schools invites the LCPS community to experience the excitement of the 2026 Tell the Story Film Showcase, a two-night celebration of student filmmaking that promises creativity and imagination. The theme this year is “Superheroes.”
The annual film showcase shines a spotlight on the incredible storytelling talents of students from elementary through high school. In each division, students are given specific creative challenges, including required lines and props, all within a limited timeframe. The result is a collection of innovative, entertaining, and often surprising films that highlight both teamwork and artistic vision.
The 2026 Tell the Story Film Showcase will be at Cineport 10 Allen Theatres, 700 S. Telshor Blvd., on Wednesday, April 29 & Thursday, April 30. The red-carpet walk will begin at 5:00 p.m. Screenings for student films will follow throughout the evening at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m., offering audiences a front-row seat to a wide range of original student productions.
Non-competitive student films will be shown on night one, while the second night will feature films submitted for the student competition.
The competition includes three fast-paced and creative divisions:
• 168-Hour Film Competition (Elementary School)
• 98-Hour Film Competition (Middle School)
• 48-Hour Film Competition (High School)
The 2026 Tell the Story LCPS Film Showcase is proudly sponsored by Allen Theatres and the LCPS Foundation. For additional details, including a full schedule of screenings, please refer to the attached invitation and program.

The event will take place tonight, April 24, at 6:00 PM at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, located at 4100 Dripping Springs Road.

Let’s come together to recognize dedication, passion, and the impact of education in Las Cruces.

This honor truly belongs to our students and music educators. Our students bring curiosity, dedication, and joy to every rehearsal and performance, while our teachers create the opportunities, guidance, and inspiration that make those moments possible.
We’re thankful to be part of a community that values and supports music education and overjoyed to celebrate the people who make it meaningful every day.

At Las Cruces Public Schools, we are proud to lead with purpose by embracing green practices and building a more sustainable future for our students and community. From reducing waste and expanding recycling efforts to investing in energy-efficient cooling systems that keep our schools comfortable during the warmer months, sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
Through our partnership with the city’s conservation department, we are also taking meaningful steps to conserve water and minimize waste, strengthening our commitment to responsible environmental stewardship.
Together, we are creating a greener, more sustainable tomorrow, one small step at a time. Join us on our journey to reduce waste, save energy, and care for the Earth we all share.
