Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories! Uplifting women in Doña Ana County who advocate for our marginalized populations

Las Cruces and Doña Ana County – Once again, the Success Partnership is collaborating with NMCO Studio to honor and uplift the women of Doña Ana County in recognition of Women's History Month this March! This year, the national theme for Women's History Month is "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories." We are excited to see who you will nominate as our 2023 Desert Heroines!

Make your nomination today for women who advocate for and uplift the voices of marginalized and silenced groups in our communities. Five exceptional women will be selected from these nominations to participate in a stylized photo shoot with other perks to highlight their contributions to this community and show them some much-deserved appreciation. "As women, we all have a unique story to tell about our journeys through life. We build resilience, learn to nurture our softness, and become our most true selves. We want to highlight and honor the local women with unique yet universal perspectives," says Dana Apodaca, Senior Graphic Designer and Artistic Director of NMCO Studio.

This is the Success Partnership's second year collaborating on this project. You can view last year’s  campaign , formally known as Local Heroine's here. "We ran this campaign for the first time last year and were blown away by all the incredible women who were nominated," said Michelle Simon, marketing coordinator for Success Partnership. The project originated in 2019 when NMCO Studio decided to use their skills and resources to give back to this beautiful community. After the pandemic, Ngage New Mexico, NMCO Media, the Success Partnership's Early Childhood Education Coalition, Prados Beauty, Myra Rommes, and Calhoun Farms partnered to rekindle this notion. Tina Ballew, Co-founder and Creative Director of NMCO Media, stated, "NMCO Studio is proud to collaborate with Success Partnership for this year's Women's History project. We are excited and honored to highlight women in our community through photography."

This year, we chose the name Desert Heroines to express our community's unique culture and history. Our new partner, Doña Ana Arts Council, is bringing an additional element of celebration and praise to this year's event.
