We're proud to highlight Ms. Torres, who was recognized by the NMSU Physical Science Laboratory for her work during this year’s STEM Mavericks Summer Camp! A core goal of STEM Mavericks is not just to inspire students, but also to empower teachers to bring fresh STEM knowledge back to their classrooms. This year, five dedicated educators joined the camp, learning alongside students and contributing their expertise. Ms. Torres, who teaches AP and regular Biology as well as Chemistry at Las Cruces High School, is the first of five outstanding teachers the PSL recognized. Her passion for science shines through everything she does, and participating in STEM Mavericks helps her broaden her own knowledge while introducing her students to STEM fields beyond the textbook. Thank you, Ms. Torres, for your dedication to science and to your students!
